The Purpose of this Blog

Porn users are everywhere.

They don't look any different than you or I. If we were to cross paths in the street, you would probably think I was a nice guy. I would give you a smile as we passed by and we would both leave with a good impression about the other person. 

But this blog is not about good impressions it is about truth. The more I begin to share about this subject, the more I believe that a broken honesty is far more valuable than a beautiful lie. Everyone has a battle to fight and a war to win that looks slightly different. If we stop pretending that we are not in the middle of a struggle, perhaps we can start working together in a way that leads to hope, victory, and peace.

Until that point, this blog is my attempt to be honest with myself and with others about the journey I am on with hope that it will provide inspiration and courage to others to continue the fight. You are not alone!

Why I Write 

A few years ago I wrote the words that follow as I began to document the journey I would take deeper into porn where I would develop the mindset I needed to leave it behind. Instead of trying to avoid looking at porn or develop the enormous amount of self-control it would take to squash my desires, I decided to accept pornography as something I wanted in my life whether it was good for me or not and then figure out if there was a better way to get what I really wanted.

"This journal was begun in the hope that some day it will help me – and perhaps others - to understand the joy and beauty of sex, and to find out how it can be most fully realized."

Now the time has come to begin sharing my story. In addition to what you read here, I have begun to put my thoughts into words and will soon be publishing them as a book to help others process through their use of pornography in a way that is accessible, empowering, and effective.
